Chartered Accountant (CA) — The Cornerstone of Professional Excellence
The Chartered Accountant designation is the flagship qualification of the Samoa Institute of Accountants, representing the highest standard of professional competence, integrity, and ethical practice in the accounting profession. It is the benchmark credential for those seeking to lead in auditing, taxation, financial reporting, and advisory services across Samoa and the Pacific region.
To qualify, candidates must hold an accounting degree (or higher) with a major in accounting, successfully complete the Institute's CA Professional Program, and have at least three years of senior-level work experience directly involved with accountancy or auditing. Applicants must be Samoan citizens or permanent residents residing in Samoa at the time of application.
As a Chartered Accountant, members are entitled to use the legally protected "CA" designation, vote in Institute governance at the Annual General Meeting, and pursue a Certificate of Public Practice to offer professional accounting and auditing services to the public. Members must maintain a minimum of 30 hours of continuing professional development annually, ensuring their skills and knowledge remain current and aligned with evolving professional standards.
The CA designation opens the door to leadership, public practice, and long-term career advancement within the accounting profession. Applications open annually, typically around February.
